Personal Memoir
|
In this project, we wrote personal memoirs about an event in our life that shaped us into the people we are today. Through this process, we reviewed literary devices and focused on carefully choosing our words to make all of them meaningful. We also made zines to artistically express our events, which included excerpts from our memoirs. This project helped me feel more comfortable with writing about myself. |
Night Analytical Essay
Honors Humanities students were asked to read and write an analytical essay about a book of their choice. For this project, I selected the book, Night, by Elie Wiesel. When reading this harrowing retelling of the Holocaust, I kept a dialectical journal in order to organize my thoughts for my essay. This project was valuable to me because I was able to get peer feedback from other Honors students about my work, and also work on analyzing texts for deeper meaning.

Podcast Project
In this final project, we studied rhetoric, the art of persuasion, and how to successfully interview individuals to create a podcast about a topic of our interest. I chose to interview fellow high school students and capture the positive ways that they were overcoming the difficult mental effects of being in quarantine amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. I enjoyed this project because it helped me practice interviewing others through investigative journalism and taught me how to create a podcast, which I had never done before.
