In the Vital Invisible Minority (VIM) Project, we focused on two essential questions; How can lives experiences of individuals reflect social inequities, and What do we gain when we learn about the lived experiences of others? My group focused on Middle Eastern Immigrants who came to the U.S. We interviewed two people, Ady Kayrouz and Shiva Gholami and learned about their individual stories and their lives. This project consisted of making a tape sculpture of a human, a multimedia art piece, and a VIM poster. Our multimedia art piece was a short zine that included two articles about each of our interviewees. This project taught us Photoshop skills, allowed us to express our creativity, and also showed us how to be respectful and thorough when interviewing individuals.
